Why Does OT Cost What It Costs?
Families often think OT is “too expensive,” or they’re not even sure what OT is — especially for postpartum or babies.
But here’s what goes into the cost:
Highly Specialized, Dual Training
I have invested in extensive continuing education:
Infant development
Feeding therapy
Bodywork & manual therapy
Reflex integration
Maternal mental health
Lactation support
Postpartum care
This allows me to support the whole dyad — the mom and baby together.
In-Home, Hands-On Care
I come directly to you in your home across the Orland Park, Burr Ridge, Chicago, and surrounding suburbs, eliminating the stress of travel with a newborn.
Time for Personalized Care
I don’t run rushed 30-minute sessions.
I give families the space needed to:
Ask questions
Practice new skills
Feel confident
Understand WHY their baby is doing something
There Are Very Few OTs Doing This Work
Maternal-infant OT is still an emerging specialty.
Families aren’t just paying for time — they’re paying for expertise that’s hard to find.
What Results Do Families Typically See?
Most infant clients receive 4–6 sessions, depending on concerns. Toddlers and beyond average 6-8 session, depending on concerns. However every case is different, differing in level of complexity. Expected treatment time and recommended plan of care will be clearly communicated following initial evaluation.
Here’s what parents consistently report:
“Armi Grace was someone I did not know I needed… She helped with tummy time and preventing flat spots, but also helped me care for myself in early postpartum. I cannot recommend her enough.”
“She helped our son go from bottles to straw cups and improved his fine motor skills… We are so grateful for her help.”
“Within weeks, our daughter’s torticollis improved! Armi Grace was patient, gentle, and taught us everything we needed to know.”
“Her bi-weekly visits helped our baby’s torticollis so much… we saw noticeable improvements and learned what to do at home.”
Parents leave sessions saying:
“I feel so much more confident now.”
“I finally understand what my baby is trying to tell me.”
“Everything makes sense after working with you.”
That’s the kind of transformation you’re investing in.
How Families Pay for OT
Even though I am a private-pay practice, I support families by providing:
SuperBills (you can submit these for possible reimbursement)
A guide for calling your insurance to check out-of-network coverage
HSA/FSA payment options
Accepting credit, cash, and check
Parents are often surprised by how much their plan can reimburse when they submit a SuperBill.
Why Investing in Maternal & Infant OT Matters
My core beliefs are simple:
Motherhood is hard, but getting support shouldn’t be.
My job is to hold the mom, so she can hold her baby.
I struggled during early motherhood myself, I was the first among my friends and family to have kids, and even as an OT, the loneliness and overwhelm were real. That experience fuels the way I practice today.
I take a proactive approach, supporting families early so small challenges don’t turn into bigger ones later. It’s occupational therapy rooted in prevention, empowerment, and family-centered care.
If you’re struggling, worried, or just unsure — you don’t have to wait for things to get worse. Support now can change your entire experience of motherhood.
